The next legendary Pokémon for players to catch in Pokémon Go has been revealed, and is available to catch for the next two weeks. It’s the legendary bird Ho-oh, the star of second generation game Pokémon Gold. Like other legendary Pokémon, it’s available to catch in legendary raids, where a group of players must work together.
This is the first time Ho-oh has been available in Pokémon Go, and it’s only available for a more limited time than with other legendary Pokémon. Typically, legendary Pokémon are available for a month or more, but Pokémon is only available from November 28 to December 12, 2017. This gives players just two weeks to gather a group and hunt this Pokémon down.
In the original Pokémon games, legendary Pokémon were unique and one-of-a-kind. It took a master Pokémon trainer to catch one, and you would only get one chance: defeat it in battle rather than catching it, and you’d miss out on catching it for good. In Pokémon Go, though, the primary difference between legendary Pokémon and regular Pokémon is that legendary Pokémon can only be caught in legendary raids, but they’re not the one-of-a-kind sort of thing found in the main games.
To take part in a legendary raid, you must gather a group of 20 players together to take it on. Then, players will use their Pokémon to weaken the legendary Pokémon and catch it. If done successfully, players can catch their very own legendary Pokémon.
